You can obtain your Texas LTC in three simple steps!

- Step 1 – Complete the Online Course: Satisfy the educational requirements with our engaging 4-hour eLearning program.
- Step 2 – Attend The Range Instruction: After the online course, participate in a 1-2 hour Range Instruction training with a Texas Qualified LTC Instructor. At the completion of the course you will receive instructions on how to coordinate with a Texas LTC instructor who can administer your in-person handgun proficiency test.
- Step 3 – Submit Your Application: Complete and submit your application to the State of Texas with our provided instructions.

After completing this online course, you will need to complete a live-fire shooting exercise with a certified instructor.
Texas LTC Live-Fire Shooting Exercise Requirements:
- At least 1-hour of Range Instruction Training.
- Score of 175/250 (70%) required to pass Proficiency Examination.
- 50 rounds total, fired at a B-27 target (24″x45″), from the ready position.
- 3 Yard Line – 20 Rounds
- 7 Yard Line – 20 Rounds
- 15 Yard Line – 10 Rounds
Optical enhancers are not allowed. Only live ammunition may be used during training and qualification. Target marking cartridges are not permitted.

After obtaining your Texas LTC, you will be qualified to carry in all of the following blue and tan states.
No, Texas requires both classroom and live-fire sessions to obtain a Texas LTC. This course satisfies the classroom training requirement, but you will still need to complete a live-fire exercise on a shooting range. Instructions for how to complete the live-fire requirement are included in this course.
At the conclusion of this course, you will be provided with a list of instructors who can help you complete your mandatory live-fire shooting exercise. Our certified instructors will lead you through a live-fire exercise and train you on fundamental firearm use. Make sure to bring your online training certificate of completion to your in-person live-fire exercise.
