Tennessee HCP Shooting Proficiency Demonstration Requirements:
The course shall include both classroom hours and firing range hours; provided, that an applicant shall not be required to comply with the firing range requirements if the applicant submits proof to the department that the applicant has successfully passed small arms qualification training or combat pistol training in any branch of the United States armed forces.

After obtaining your Tennessee HCP, you will be qualified to carry in all of the following blue and tan states.
No, Tennessee requires both classroom and range training sessions to obtain a Tennessee HCP. This course satisfies the classroom training requirement, but you will still need to complete a 1-2 hour “Range Proficiency” portion of the course. Instructions for how to complete the range proficiency requirement are included in this course.
At the conclusion of this course, you will be provided with a list of instructors who can help you complete your mandatory shooting demonstration exercise. Our certified instructors will lead you through a live-shooting qualification exercise, train you on fundamental firearm use and educate you on self-defense and firearm laws. Make sure to bring your online training certificate of completion to your in-person shooting demonstration.
