Class Description
CCIC Wyoming Legal Foundations is the second step in completing the U.S. LawShield Concealed Carry Instructor Credential Training program. This course is designed to equip instructors with a comprehensive understanding of Wyoming’s firearm and concealed carry laws, regulations, and self-defense principles. Through this training, you will gain the knowledge and expertise needed to confidently teach the legal requirements, practical considerations, and ethical responsibilities of concealed carry in Wyoming.
If you are an existing firearms instructor, adding the U.S. LawShield Concealed Carry Instructor Credential to your resume can be accomplished with only 8 hours of CCIC Legal Foundations Online Training.
At the completion of the Concealed Carry Legal Foundations course and your state-specific legal foundations training module, you will have the opportunity to submit proof of current firearms instructor certification for Prior Learning Credit (PLC). If approved, this credit will exempt you from the 7-hour Shooting Fundamentals course and in-person qualification. Recognized firearms instructor credentials include:

- National Rifle Association: NRA Basic Pistol, NRA Personal Protection In The Home, NRA Personal Protection Outside The Home, NRA CCW Instructor
- US Concealed Carry Association: Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals, Defensive Shooting Fundamentals
- Law Enforcement & Military: Law Enforcement and Military instructors holding Handgun Instructor designations
- Other Credentials: Upon individual review, other credential types may be considered. Instructor candidates will have the ability to upload existing instructor credentials for review.
1. Online Legal Foundations Course (7 hours)
The Concealed Carry Instructor Credential Online Training Course includes 7-hours of specialized legal instruction. This course is designed to provide concealed carry instructors with an in-depth understanding of constitutional rights and protections, firearms and concealed carry law, self-defense law, and the criminal justice system.
2. Online State-Specific Legal Foundations Course (1 hour)
The State-specific Legal Foundations Online Training Course individually addresses each state’s carry permit process, firearm and self-defense laws, and any other state-specific training requirements. Certification can be obtained for multiple states by completing the State-specific Legal Foundations training for each.
3. Online Shooting Fundamentals Course & Live-Fire Qualification (8 hours) *
If you are a new firearms instructor, you will need to successfully complete an additional Online Concealed Carry Shooting Fundamentals Course focused on firearms training, range safety, and operations, along with an In-Person Shooting Qualification with a U.S. LawShield CCIC Instructor Trainer.

- Credential Use: The U.S. LawShield Instructor Credential (“Credential”) grants you the right to instruct using U.S. LawShield materials in accordance with the terms outlined herein. You may use U.S. LawShield intellectual property (IP), including but not limited to presentations and training materials, solely for the purpose of delivering U.S. LawShield-approved training courses, in the manner they are approved to be taught.
- Compliance and Approval: The Credential is contingent on your compliance with these Terms and any additional requirements communicated by U.S. LawShield. U.S. LawShield reserves the right to review and approve the content of your presentations and training materials to ensure alignment with our standards. Compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations is mandatory.
- Annual Renewal: The Credential is subject to annual renewal, requiring submission of any necessary documentation and fees as determined by U.S. LawShield. Failure to renew the Credential may result in its expiration, and subsequent use of U.S. LawShield IP without a valid Credential is strictly prohibited.
- Additional Requirements: U.S. LawShield may, from time to time, introduce additional requirements for Credential holders. It is your responsibility to stay informed about and comply with any updates or modifications to these Terms.
- Intellectual Property Rights: All intellectual property rights, including copyright and trademarks, associated with U.S. LawShield materials, shall remain the exclusive property of U.S. LawShield. You agree not to reproduce, distribute, or modify U.S. LawShield IP in any way that is not expressly permitted under these Terms.
- Confidentiality: Any confidential information shared by U.S. LawShield, including but not limited to training methodologies, must be treated with confidentiality and not disclosed to third parties without explicit written consent.
- Compliance with State and Federal Law: Use of the Credential must be in strict compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations. U.S. LawShield disclaims any liability arising from the misuse of the Credential in violation of such laws.
- Termination: U.S. LawShield reserves the right to terminate the Credential and access to U.S. LawShield IP in the event of non-compliance with these Terms, any additional requirements, or violations of state and federal laws. Upon the lapse or revocation of the Credential, you must immediately cease using any U.S. LawShield materials associated with the Credential.
- Non-Publication, Distribution or Alteration: You may not publish, alter or distribute any materials provided by U.S. LawShield without express written consent. In the event of a violation of this provision, you agree that stipulated damages of $10,000 per violation represent a reasonable and agreed-upon amount to compensate U.S. LawShield for potential harm and are not intended as a penalty.
- Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
- Modification of Terms: U.S. LawShield reserves the right to modify or update these Terms at any time. Notice of any changes will be communicated to Credential holders.
- Subset of Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy: Please review the U.S. LawShield Terms and Conditions, available at https://ww2.uslawshield.com/terms-and-conditions/, and Privacy Policy, available at https://ww2.uslawshield.com/privacy-policy/, which are a part of these Terms and of which these Terms are a subset. Except as otherwise provided herein, these Terms shall control in the event there is any inconsistency between these Terms and the U.S. LawShield Terms and Conditions.
By obtaining and maintaining a U.S. LawShield Instructor Credential, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by these Terms and any updates thereto. Failure to comply may result in the revocation of the Credential and other legal actions as deemed appropriate by U.S. LawShield.
